Travel away from home, late nights at the office and even an unexpected illness can prevent us from caring for our pets the way we would like to. While there are many options, in-home pet sitting is a safe, convenient and affordable alternative to boarding or relying on the kindness of family and friends for assistance. Many veterinarians agree that boarding can be traumatic for some animals, and many animals are not candidates for boarding due to age or infirmity. Many of us do not know our neighbors, and family and friends are often too busy to help. In addition, they may lack the knowledge and experience to properly care for our pets.
At The Village Pet, we believe that pets are happiest in the comfort of their own home, with as little disruption to their daily routine as possible. Leaving your pet to the care of a trusted professional not only reduces their trauma and the likelihood of injury or illness due to exposure to other animals, but gives you the peace of mind that comes with knowing your pets are being cared for individuals who are bonded, insured and experienced in caring for pets.
To arrange for service, please contact us at (317) 250-5134 at least seven days in advance. We will then schedule an orientation session, which allows our staff to become acquainted with you and your pets, gather detailed information regarding your pets, complete a service agreement, obtain a key to the home or apartment and arrange for any special services you would like performed.
In keeping with our commitment to the safety and well-being of animals, cats must be seen at least once each day, and no more than 12 hours may elapse between dog visits.
Standard Per Visit Rates:
Initial Orientation: Complimentary
Up to 2 Dogs: $18.00 per visit Up to 2 Cats: $15.00 per visit
Each Additional Pet: $2.00
Other Animals - Minimum of $12.00 Per Visit (Ferret, Fish, Bird, etc.)
Mid-Day Dog Walking Visits - From $12.00 per visit

Holiday Rates are Standard Rate Plus $5.00 Per Visit
Ready-Key Program Enrollment: One-time fee of $5.00 (non-refundable)--Avoid the inconvenience of picking up/dropping off keys prior to leaving town! We will code your key and keep it in a secured lock box with your personal information kept separately. This allows us to serve you on short notice or in the event of an emergency.
Groomer/Veterinarian Transport: Minimum $12.00 per trip
*Effective 7/1/08 a minimum $1.00 per visit fuel surcharge will be added to all invoices. Surcharge subject to increase based upon distance traveled.
